The Art Lockdown

Italian culture is trembling; museums, libraries, culture sites are in lockdown. Since 3 November until 03 December 2020, the Decree of the President of the Council of Ministers has stated that, all kind of art places must close in order to contain the spread of Covid-19. So as photographer I have imagined these empty places, from which their main function has been removed: the public. Basically art without public is not art anymore because it loses its primary function: to convey a message between the artist and the spectator. So is culture of the whole world that is shaking. Italian government is trying to avoid permanent shuts down by giving, with the 26th June decree, 70 millions to be allocated to private museum, on 13th November this number has been increased with 17 millions more. But does this will guarantee the survival of the whole Italian culture?
